The Greater Cedar Rapids Area Home Builders Association is one of over 800 state & local associations throughout the country. NAHB, the National Association of Home Builders, now has over 248,000 members nationwide and is one of the largest and most influential trade associations in the world. Not only do we act as our members' voice to the government on the local, state and national levels; but we are proud to also provide our members with an abundance of advertising, community service, professional development & educational, as well as networking & social opportunities!
The Greater Cedar Rapids Area HBA is a non-profit association dedicated to the building and construction trades and our communities. The Association was established in 1948 and has been growing ever since, with now over 400 local member firms. The Association is made up of not only local home builders but also any company working within the building or construction industries, eg. architects, plumbers, electricians, designers, financial or insurance institutions, retail or wholesale businesses, etc.

Joe Ahmann is the owner and president of Ahmann Design who's primary work is with residential design. Their award-winning work has been nationally recognized by the American Institute of Building Design, Professional Builder Magazine, and Better Homes and Gardens Magazine. Joe is also currently in the finishing stages of the considerable undertaking of his commercial developerment in Hiawatha.

Midge has been the Executive Officer of the Cedar Rapids HBA for over 19 years! She is the "man behind the curtain" and the right hand of every association president. Midge and her husband, Jim have three daughters and two granddaughters and live in Marion.
