The HBA Developers is a council, or a sub-chapter of the Greater Cedar Rapids Area Home Builders Association. It is made up any type of member who wants to show support for area development. With their efforts focused strongly on advocacy and ensuring fair and efficient codes & processes for land developers and builders alike, the HBA Developers are vital to our association and to our community.

ADVOCACY TO KEEP THE AMERICAN DREAM ALIVE & AFFORDABLE

The HBA Developers board meets every other, if not every, month. This council provides the HBA and HBA Developer members with a unified voice with government agencies with which to express concerns on processes associated with all types of development and economic growth issues.

Currently, there is significant room for improvement in the culture and the processes associated with land development. Numerous examples have been shared regarding various companies and projects choosing not to locate in our community due to current processes. Some residential developers have also stated that they will avoid developing in certain municipalities unless a change is made.

As a result, the HBA Developers has set several priorities in which to effect change, and hopefully a culture of "Assisting Development", versus today's perception of "Resisting Development." We acknowledge that it is in everyone's best interest to have a thriving, growing community and therefore we need to proceed with communication and involvement to effect positive change.
