• HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATIONS:
  Membership in the Greater Cedar Rapids Area Home Builders Association also means membership in the Home Builders Association of Iowa and the National Association of Home Builders. The following is a brief preview of the benefits and activities offered to investors in HBA membership.

• PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & EDUCATION:
  Increase your professional skills and knowledge by choosing from a wide variety of continuing education courses, workshops and seminars offered annually.

• CONTACTS, CONVENTIONS & MEETINGS:
  Develop lasting relationships with professional colleagues through local monthly dinner meetings, and national and state conventions that provide information from all levels of government and private industry.

• ADVERTISING:
  An Annual Membership Directory advertises your firm in connection with the "mark of excellence" associated with HBA membership. The opportunity to take advantage of special ad space in all HBA publications are available to members as most reasonable methods of advertising.

• COMMITTEES:
  Enhance your interests by participating in the various committees structured for membership involvement.

• COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:
  Interaction with the community is facilitated through HBA’s involvement with organizations such as: the Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity, Variety Club of Iowa, Cedar Rapids Chamber of Commerce, Eastern Iowa Child Protection Center...the list goes on and on!

• SPECIAL & SOCIAL EVENTS:
  HBA annually sponsors the Home Show and the Parade of Homes. In addition to these consumer related projects, the association sponsors several social events each year for its members including a largely attended Golf Outing and Family Picnic held in the summer months, a Trap Shoot in the Fall, and lots of other fun activities.

• AWARDS & RECOGNITION:
  Membership in HBA carries a valuable "mark of excellence" in the home building industry. Advertising your membership recognizes your business as part of this quality. Also gain recognition for membership involvement, recruitment, and outstanding performance through the association's awards program.

• PUBLIC AFFAIRS:
  HBA represents the association's collective interests before the press, the governments, and the public. Legislative lobbying at local, state and national levels of governement is executed through HBA.

• PUBLICATIONS:
  Subscriptions to trade publications such as the Iowa Homebuilder and Builder Magazine plus the local newsletter, the Threshold, provide practical and timely information on issues facing the housing industry.
  
  
• HOME BUILDERS REALTY, INC. is a new member service to our Builder members and offers the chance to list new home construction for a nominal fee in the local MLS (Multiple Listing Service) with the Cedar Rapids Area Board of Realtors.



• HBA Remodelers is a sub-chapter of our local association. You must be a member of this association to join this council which meets periodically with professional Remodelers in the association to help them enhance their business ventures. Cost is $35.00 per year to join this council.

• MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES:
  BUILDER MEMBER: Any individual that is in the business of building or related to a community, and who performs this construction, or resides within the territorial jurisdiction of this Association, and who is of good character and business reputation.
  
  
ASSOCIATE MEMBER: Any person, firm, or corporation engaged in any allied trade industry or profession within the jurisdiction of this association, and who is of good character and business reputation.
