In 2004 the Greater Cedar Rapids Area HBA set up a scholarship fund through the Kirkwood Foundation. Our goal was to raise $100,000 within five year to create a self-sustaining Scholarship Fund. At the start of the last quarter of 2007 we hit that goal and over a year early! These scholarships are available for one or more students in the Industrial Technologies programs at Kirkwood each year.

Endowed Scholarship Requirements

• Award to one or more students

• Must be enrolled either full- or part-time in one of the following Industrial Technologies programs at Kirkwood: Architectural Technology, Carpentry, Construction Technology, Construction Management, HVAC Installer, Industrial Maintenance Technology, Masonry Construction, and Plumbing Technology

• Must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5

• Preference will be given to a Greater Cedar Rapids Area Home Builders Association member, family member, or employees and their families of one of the member firms. Applicants must demonstrate how they meet this requirement. (Consideration will also be given to students not affiliated with the Greater Cedar Rapids Area Home Builders Association, but award will be based on demonstrated financial need as documented by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
